Yes, we will be evaluating every intern throughout the semester. There will be regular one on ones with your direct supervisor throughout your internship.

Q: Is the Internship paid?

No. We will provide leadership training resources as well as ministry experience that will boost your resume and grow you as an individual as well as a leader.

Q: Can I get college credit?

This internship is not built for college credit. If your degree requires an internship, and you would like for that internship to be with Trinity, we have another level of our internship program that will allow you to get the college credit that you need. Email Pastor Josh Evans at jevans@tbc.org for more information and he can point you in the right direction.

Q: What if my personal schedule conflicts with a intern commitment?

Obviously, things come up and we understand that life happens. Interns will be required to let us know weeks prior to the conflict, and we will try and work with you. What does not need to happen is informing us the week of the conflict, or for this to be an ongoing and regular conflict.

We are providing Internship opportunities where you will receive leadership development, ministry experience, as well as influence in helping our church accomplish its mission. Our internship program is designed to give participants a wide variety of ministry experience while working alongside TBC staff members.

Schedule

During the year (fall-spring), intern positions will require an estimated time commitment of 7-9 hours a week. This includes a leadership development course on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, the entire Sunday morning experience from 8:15 am until 12:45 pm. Note: If you serve in Trinity Kids or Trinity students, you will be asked to serve on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Spring – Fall Begins the first week in September and ends the last week in April.

** Dates are subject to change. The exact start and end dates will be determined depending on the year.

** Applicants are asked to commit to the full year of their internship which runs from fall to the end of spring.

The weekly schedule of the intern varies depending on the current week’s specific assignments. All interns need to be a part of the entire Sunday morning experience (8 am to 1 pm – times may slightly vary based on campus). In addition, all interns will be required to attend a leadership course that takes place at our Hammond campus on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00. Student ministry and kid’s ministry interns will be required to serve on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

*Note: While we desire to help you grow in a specific area that God has called you to. It is also our desire to provide all interns with a wide range of experience from all of the different areas mentioned above. Although we will do our best to ensure you get the most experience in your primary area, you may be occasionally asked to serve in different areas well. We intend to use you in several different capacities to maximize your experience while serving with us.

Leadership Development

We intend to not only give you ministry experience but to help you grow as a leader. One way that we intend to do this is to bring you through a leadership development course during the semester. The leadership course will take place at our Hammond campus every Tuesday evening from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. During the semester, different leaders will come and speak with you about leadership. When you become an intern with us, you are required to attend this course.

Do Interns serve on Sundays?

Yes. All interns are required to serve for the entire weekend experience (8:00 am until 1:00 pm) on the weekend ministry team (track) that they are interning with.

Do Interns serve on Saturday’s?

This depends on the team you are on. Sometimes, you may have an event involving your department, and you will be required to attend (when you are approved, you will be given dates of the weekends your service will be needed). Also, our Oakleaf campus is currently in a portable environment so Oakleaf interns may be involved on the setup team which takes place on Saturday afternoons.

Is the Internship paid?

Are there office hours during the week?

No. Each intern will be required to attend the leadership course every Tuesday evening at our Hammond campus and be a part of the entire Sunday morning experience. Trinity Students and Trinity Kids interns will be required to serve on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Depending on the project we are working on, we may schedule you for occasional meetings to allow for you to provide your input on a particular project related to the track you have influence in. You will receive advance notice for these particular meetings.

This also requires a background check as well. If you have already filled the application out and were background screened for a recent employment for Trinity Baptist Church, you do not need to fill out another one.
